A DOUBLE motocross champion has targeted the World Championships following a blistering start to the sport.

Dominic Lancett, from Cross Keys, won all four races in Wiltshire last weekend to clinch the MX Nationals Championship in the 85cc Big Wheel category.

That came on the back of him winning the Pirelli Masters Big Wheel 85 title for the second year running and he could make it a triple success by claiming the British Youth Championships at Pontrilas next month.

And if that wasn't enough, the 15-year-old Bishop's School pupil will also represent Great Britain at the Motocross of Nations event that will take place in Belgium in October.

"My goal is to race the World Championships and ride for a professional team," said Dominic, who competes for KJS Racing and had to regain his fitness following a shoulder injury he picked up last September.

"At the moment I'm just working hard and it's paying off."

Dominic – who was the BSA Finals winner in 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016 – said he got into motocross thanks to his father Barry and started racing when he was allowed a bigger bike.

"I've been to Spain twice to train and have also been to France," said Dominic.

"I really enjoy it."
