HEREFORD Lads Club have been handed a boost in their quest to gain promotion to the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division by news that funding has been received from the Football Foundation to build a new footpath, covered stand and player walkway at the County Ground.

These works are needed in order for the club to meet ground grading requirements.

Lads Club were denied promotion last season due to the them not meeting criteria by the designated deadline.

Since a meeting between the club and the Herefordshire Football Association earlier this season, talks have begun with the West Midlands League, who have outlined what works were needed.

Following the specifications being received, football grant writer Dan Chance proceeded to write the application for funding and work has already begun.
