HEREFORD FC have appointed a new non-executive stadium director

Paul Quarrell, who is managing director of building firm William Powell & Sons and voluntary chairman of Hereford & Gloucester Construction Safety Association Limited, will officially take on responsibility for all stadium related matters at Edgar Street.

That includes health and safety and security, having previously overseen this area of the business in an informal capacity for many months.

As well as offering assistance to the club’s board for some time, Quarrell has also been a key member of the Edgar Street Safety Advisory Group (SAG) since April 2015, working alongside local partners from the police, the fire service and the local council to ensure the club’s stadium continues to meet all the necessary requirements to retain its safety certificate.

Club officials have confirmed that in relation to the appointment, with a possible conflict of interest due to Quarrell's business interests, safeguards have been put in place to ensure best value continues to be sought when tenders are invited for work at Edgar Street.

He also does hold any voting rights at board meetings.
