HEREFORD FC recorded one of the highest attendances in the semi-finals of the FA Vase yesterday.

A total of 4,683 fans watched the Bulls beat Salisbury 1-0 in a first leg tie at Edgar Street.

The record attendance for a semi-final is reportedly 5,071, who watched Rainworth Miners Welfare's clash against Barton Rovers in 1982.

Hereford's gate was the highest in non-league football yesterday, beating seven attendances in League Two and three in League One, including top-of-the-table Burton's home game against Fleetwood and a derby between Rochdale and Bury.

It was even higher than the Scottish Premier League match between Inverness and Hamilton.
