Wellington 4 Shawbury 4 AFTER being in front for much of the first half, Wellington needed two goals in the closing minutes to share the West Midlands League Premier Division points in an eight-goal thriller.

Keith Jones met a Will Perkins free-kick at the far post to put the home side in front against the run of play.

Desperate to get out of the relegation zone, the visitors were 3-1 up by the 70th minute, the second a harsh penalty award.

Two minutes later Andy Price pulled a goal back, but when Shawbury made it 4-2 the fightback looked doomed.

Kenny Styles had other ideas, scoring from the penalty spot after Jones was brought down and then showing persistence to dispossess the keeper and set up the chance for Jones to equalise.

Bridgnorth 1 Wellington 2 IN midweek, Wellington produced one of their best performances of the season to win at second-placed Bridgnorth.

They hit the front in the 10th minute, Tom Herbert finishing well from a tight angle.

Pete Wallace extended the lead on the hour-mark and then the defence took over to restrict the home side to just one goal.
