Sinkum 2 Moorfields 0 SINKUM claimed their first piece of silverware when they overcame Moorfields' strong first-half showing to carry off the Jewson Herefordshire Sunday League Division 2 Cup.
Sinkum were grateful to goalkeeper Adam Rocke who turned in a man-of-the-match display to ensure that the match remained goalless at the interval.
But it was a different story after the break when Sinkum picked up the pace and Damian Gallimore played a major role in setting up both goals.
Gallimore's cross provoked a scramble in the Moorfields' goalmouth from which Terry Williams opened the scoring and then, 20 minutes from time, delivered the cross for Scott Diston to head in the second.
The Kestrel Carpets-sponsored side were hoping to make it a double success in their first season by clinching the Division 2 South title with a victory against Broadleys yesterday (Wednesday) evening.
