Westfields 3 Oadby Town 1 TWO goals from leading scorer Mark Davis helped Westfields to complete their Polymac Services Midland Alliance home programme on a high note.

Davis gave Oadby early notice of his threat when he shot narrowly over in the opening exchanges.

And in the 33rd minute, the ace marksman was on hand to receive a fine cross from Kevin Jinks before sweeping the ball home from 10 yards to give Westfields the lead.

The city side added to their advantage just three minutes into the second period when winger Nick Butler collected the ball just inside the Oadby half and outpaced two defenders before slotting the ball home.

The visitors pulled a goal back after 55 minutes when Jinks was dispossessed and Nick Fallon laid on a chance for Andy May to beat goalkeeper Rory Hollingshead with a fierce drive.

Scott Jackson, back at the heart of the Westfields defence after a four-game absence, helped to ensure that there were no further serious alarms before the result was put beyond doubt with the best goal of the game.

Daniel Moon sent over a fine corner and Davis raced in to score with a brilliant header at the near post.

For Westfields it was ample revenge for a 5-1 thumping at Oadby earlier in the season and brought to an end the visitors' six-game unbeaten run.
