HEREFORD United can have a major say in the destiny of the League 2 automatic promotion places this weekend.

The Bulls play host to third-placed Swindon Town on Saturday and then make the short trip to second in the table Walsall on Easter Monday.

And Saturday seems set to see one of the biggest gates of the season at Edgar Street with strong demand from tickets from Swindon, leading United to state: "After liaising with the police and due to heavy demand for tickets from Swindon, it has been agreed that the Blackfriars End will only be available to Swindon supporters."

While these are two tough games, Hereford boss Graham Turner can take some comfort from good performances against the division's top sides earlier in the season.

Two excellent goals from Andy Williams earned United a 2-1 win at the County Ground back in November while only a superb display by goalkeeper Clayton Ince allowed Walsall to leave Edgar Street with a narrow 1-0 success.

"Generally we have done better against the better sides so we can take confidence from that," said the United chief.

"But these are definitely two games to look forward to.

"It eases the pressure a little now that we have 50 points on the board although we would like to get a few more before the end of the season."

Hereford will have the services of striker Steve Guinan over the weekend after United agreed an extension of his loan period with Cheltenham Town.

Guinan will now complete his maximum 93 days at Edgar Street before returning to Whaddon Road after the trip to Peterborough on April 21, thus missing United's final two games of the season, at home to Shrewsbury Town and away at relegation-threatened Torquay United.

After last Saturday's goalless draw with Milton Keynes Dons, Turner has no new injury problems to contend with although Martyn Giles is still ruled out with a back injury and on-loan Steve Jennings seems unlikely to recover from a knee injury in time to feature this weekend.

Meanwhile, Andy Ferrell's loan spell at Kidderminster Harriers seems set to be curtailed after the midfielder picked up a groin injury in his first game for the Worcestershire club, a 1-1 draw at St Albans.
