If you are struggling for ideas for things to do during half term, we have found plenty of fun activities to entertain the whole family.

  • Get up close and meet some of West Midland Safari Park's long necked beauties at their fundraising week, dedicated to the conservation of giraffes.

Giraffe Week will run from May 26 to June 3. Guests will have the chance to learn about the threats giraffes face in the wild. Giraffe Week is included in the standard admission charge of £24.00 for adults, £19.00 for children aged 3-15 and £22.00 for concessions. Admission includes admittance to the safari drive-through, walk-through areas, talks, the new Ice Age exhibit and a free return ticket. Adventure theme park rides are charged extra.

Opening hours are also extended for giraffe week from 9:00 until 18:30, with last entry at 17:00.

  • At Malvern Theatres, children aged 5-8 can take part in a super‐cali‐fragil‐istic‐expi‐ali‐docious Mary Poppins themed musical theatre workshop on Tuesday, May 29.

With a morning and an afternoon session and tickets at £14, this is a fun opportunity to sing and dance with Monkeys in Motion instructor Sophie-Jo Lusted.

  • Also at Malvern Theatres, children aged 8-16 can take part in film making and stop frame animation workshops. Led by Reel Access, the film making session is on Thursday, May 31 and stop frame animation is on Friday, June 1.Tickets cost £40 for one session or £65 for both workshops.   • Learn about the majestic steam train with an opportunity to get close to the first stars of the forthcoming ‘Give my Regards to Broadway’ steam festival, at Toddington on May, 26-28.

  • Spend your bank holiday Monday taking part in the tournament games, and becoming a squire in the royal court.   • Make the most of the late Bank Holiday heatwave and get on the water at Trimpley Sailing Club on Monday, May 28.

With the forecast for sunshine and temperatures in the mid-20°C, Trimpley SC, near Kidderminster, will be opening their doors from 12pm for you and your family to get afloat as they host the final Worcestershire event of this year’s national RYA Push The Boat Out ‘try sailing’ initiative.
