FINAL preparations are being made for a huge Kidderminster community event that helps raise cash for good causes.

Brinton’s Bash will take place on Saturday, June 2 from noon to 8.30pm and will feature live music, a host of activities as well as stalls.

This is the third annual event, which replaced the defunct Kidderminster Carnival, and has previously seen thousands of people flock to Brinton’s Park for the fun day.

Profits from this year’s event will be distributed between Wyre Forest charities Kidderminster District Youth Trust, Axis and Nightstop.

Brinton’s Bash was organised by businessman Dave Griffin, who owns Quads N Castles in Kidderminster, as a way of bringing the community together as well as boosting good causes.

Earlier this year, his fundraising efforts included providing food and warm clothes for homeless and elderly folk in need during the cold snap.

Live music, which will be held on the main stage from 4.30pm includes Sammy Jo, Just Charlotte, The Time of the Mouth and The Murmur.

Other attractions include a visit from Dudley Zoo, Big Top Circus teaching youngsters to juggle, plate spin and walk the tightrope, a Punch & Judy Show, bouncy castles, quad bikes, mini bumper cars and a land train doing tours of the park.

Mr Griffin said there would be no firework finale this year as in previous events but added there would be plenty on offer for families to enjoy.

He said: “Brinton’s Bash is a fantastic community event which helps us raise money for great charities that do so much in our area.

“Thanks to everyone who came to the previous Bash’s and we look forward to seeing everyone again this year with the event bringing lots more for everyone to enjoy.

“I also want to thank our sponsors Hire It Kidderminster, Oakleaf services Kidderminster, Quads N Castles and to JJK transport for loaning us a lorry for our stage.”

Mr Griffin added that anyone who wishes to support Brinton’s Bash and help out on the day can get in touch by emailing hire@quadsncastles.co.uk.
