BEWDLEY folk are being urged to get on their bikes and enjoy a host of cycling activities during half term week.

Bewdley Bike Week will be held during half term between Sunday, May 27 and June 1.

It is designed to encourage people of all ages to discover, enjoy and benefit from cycling in the local area.

The main events include Bewdley Bike Jam which is a free day packed with cycling activities on Sunday May 27 at the track at Stourport Sports Club.

Cycling Adventurers Evening at Wyre Forest Visitor’s Centre will be held on Tuesday, May 29 and will feature riding, demo bikes and jaw dropping presentations from Bewdley’s most intrepid world cyclist explorers.

On Bank Holiday Monday, novice and experienced riders will have the opportunity to cycle through 20 mile or 60 mile scene routes.

Other activities during the week will include a trip on Severn Valley Railway, evening road and mountain bike rides, family rides, cycle coaching, Bikeability, and maintenance checks.

Cycling coach Hannah Escott said: “Bewdley Bike Week offers the whole family the chance to get outside on their bikes, have loads of fun, make great memories and learn new skills. There’s something for everyone.”
