PREPARATIONS are in full swing for the annual Bewdley Carnival which takes place next month.

Organisers are promising a fun day out for all the family at the event, which will be headlined by an appearance from Paws for Thought Canine Display team, on the carnival field on June 9.

There will also be a parade, led by this year’s princesses that will go through the town and finish on the field at Bewdley Leisure Centre.

The four youngsters selected to be Carnival Princesses this year are St Anne’s Primary pupils Tanya Brazier, aged nine and seven-year-old Holly Southern alongside Evi-Lou Fahy, aged nine and five-year-old Lola Glarvey from Bewdley Primary.

Paws for Thought are set to bring their team of a dozen canines and see them take part in fire jumping, agility races, back walking and examples of police dog work.

Other acts that will appear at the Carnival will be HCW Wrestling, Severnside School of Dancing, West Midlands Tae Kwon Do, animal man Simon Airey, Glamba percussion and a visit from Temevale Alpacas.

People can still enter a float or walking group into the parade by calling Jess Matthews on 07508 255458 or email Matthewsbewdley@gmail.com.
