PERSHORE Royal Naval Association has presented the town council with a cheque for £1,000 to further boost the fund raising total for the Stained Glass Memorial Window in the Cemetery Chapel.
Various events are planned by Pershore Town Council to raise the rest of the money over the summer including a table top sale on Saturday June 9, stalls at the carnival and plum fair as well as an auction and art exhibition.
The fund total now stands at £27,500 and the council is hoping these events, with the support of local residents, will help us to make the final push for the target of £49,000.
The window is due to be installed before November 11 this year, the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
