A MIDLANDS MP paid a visit to the Catshill and West Branch Labour Party this month.

Emma Reynolds, MP for Wolverhampton North-East, was guest speaker at the group's meeting on Friday, May 11.

Brexit was the main focus of the talk but she also spoke about the Windrush generation scandal.

Chairman Phil Baker said: "Most of her speech centred on the impact and practicalities of Brexit rather than the politics.

"Emma stated major decisions were still needed on the customs union, single market and the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

"On the Windrush generation scandal, Emma was critical of the Government in its handling of the crisis, its slow response and cited the case of one of her constituents who had been locked up in an immigration detention centre despite having lived in the UK for 51 years."

Ms Reynolds also fielded a number of questions from members, including Bromsgrove Labour councillors.
