AFTER raising more than £10,000 in the past 12 months for their charity of the year, a Blackheath supermarket want your votes to decide who will get their support this year.

Sainsbury’s Blackheath had another good year of in store fundraising, collecting £10,016 for Edwards Trust through their raffles, buckets on tills, charity weekend collections, teddy and book stall in the store as well as many other events.

Lucy Gooday, of Edwards Trust, said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to the customers and staff at Sainsbury’s firstly for choosing us and for the continued support throughout the year.

“We had a great relationship with everyone and £10,000 will provide over 200 hours of bereavement support.

“I would also like to personally thank all the volunteers who helped us with their time and support.”

Voting has now started for customers to decide which of three shortlisted causes – St Mary’s Hospice, Breast Cancer Haven and support dogs for autism, epilepsy and disability – should become the store’s new charity of the year.

Votes can be cast either online at www.sainsburyslocalcharity.co.uk or in store before the cut-off date of Sunday, June 24.
