Wellington Parish History Society is inviting anyone with a connection with Wellington to visit its Archive Afternoon, 2-7 pm at Wellington Social Club on Wednesday, June 27.

Part of Wellington Fun Week, the aim is to share items such as photos, maps, deeds, newspaper clippings, club programmes, school reports - anything from 10 years to hundreds of years ago. The Society is asking anyone with items to share to either bring them along on the day, or even better to contact one of the organisers in advance to arrange hand over of the items for loan. The items will be displayed for everyone to take a trip down memory lane and recall what a wonderful community Wellington has always been.

Chairman Gill Bullock commented, "The more items we have on display, the more engaging the Archive Afternoon will be. I'll be putting on display a pinny that used to belong to Mrs Evans, a long time resident of the village, who worked for a Wellington farming family. We hope that the afternoon will be a real nostalgia trip. Even if people don't have photos or items to share, we'd love them to come along anyway."

The Archive Afternoon is free and refreshments will be available. For enquiries, and to arrange loan of items, contact John Palmer 01432 830460, Margaret Makin 01432 830452 or Gill Bullock 01432 839109.
