THE Pride flag flew over Malvern last weekend, as the town's fire station stood in solidarity after the annual celebrations were postponed.

Malvern’s second Pride event was planned for Saturday, July 25, but due to the pandemic the celebrations had to be postponed.

As a gesture of support and to mark the date, the crew at Malvern Fire Station flew a Pride flag at the station for the day.

A Herefordshire and Worcestershire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "The organisers have told the station how touched they were by the support and in particular how supportive people have been about their decision to postpone until next year.

"They can’t wait to see everyone at Malvern Pride 2021, which will be even more amazing and everyone at Malvern Fire Station will look forward to being there to support it."

The annual Malvern Pride is set to return next year, with live music, drag acts, stalls and food.
