A UNIQUE outdoor adventure trail in Kidderminster is set to welcome its first visitors this weekend.
Habberley Trail will open this Saturday (July 4) on the site of the old golf club in Low Habberley, bringing five new jobs to the area.
The 42 acres of land will be opened to members of the public, having previously been accessible only to golf club members since the 1920s.
The land was bought by the owners of The Crocky Trail adventure playground in Cheshire two years ago after the golf club closed down.
It has since undergone a £1million refurbishment and now features its own cafe and a series of outdoor activities, including a giant seesaw, "wobble barrel", connect four basketball, a range of different swings and a skipping machine.
There is also a shooting stars football challenge, quick shoot basketball, tightrope, "crocodile maze", slide and fairy trail.
Roxanne Brown, who has moved to Kidderminster from Sussex to manage the business, said: "We've been working on getting the trail ready since February. I came on board as the project manager and decided to stay on to manage the place.
"The whole idea is to get families back outdoors and playing together, while the cafe will be a hub for the local community.
"The activities are all designed by the owners, who are farmers, and are made for families. They test children to work together and use their weight to balance or move the equipment.
"It's such a unique facility, there's nothing like it in the area. I mean where else can you find a giant seesaw for up to 20 people?
"It's so hard to describe so we're hoping people come and see it for themselves!"
Habberley Trail was due to open in March, but the launch was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Roxanne said: "It's been a really scary time for us. We're a brand new business with new staff, but we just kept saying to ourselves that we will get through this."
Due to lockdown restrictions, only 50 people will be allowed on the trail at a time and visitors will be required to book a 90-minute time slot online in advance.
The trail costs £5 per person or free for under-fives.
Roxanne said: "It's doing really well so far - the first week is pretty much fully booked. We're really excited to open.
"When lockdown is over, people will be able to bring a picnic and spend the whole day here if they want to.
"It's 42 acres, so it's a big area to walk around. The views at the top of the hills are spectacular."
The Habberley Trail cafe has been furnished using upcycled materials and sells fresh sandwiches, paninis, wraps, and hot and cold drinks.
