THERE has been one new death from coronavirus recorded in Worcestershire hospitals.
Latest figures from NHS England show the number of deaths in county hospitals stands at 298.
The latest figures refer to deaths recorded in the 24 hours leading up to 5pm on June 24, and do not necessarily refer to deaths happening on that day, only deaths recorded on that day.
Elsewhere, a further 55 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,490.
Patients were aged between 49 and 98 years old. One patient, aged 70, had no known underlying health conditions.
In the latest figures, the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has 270 recorded deaths from coronavirus, while the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust has recorded 28 deaths.
This means there have now been at least 507 deaths in all settings in Worcestershire.
The figures on deaths relate to patients who have died in hospital and who have tested positive for Covid-19.
They do not include deaths outside hospital, such as those in care homes, prisons, ambulances or in the community.
The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust covers the Worcestershire Royal Hospital and Evesham Community Hospital as well as the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and Kidderminster Hospital.
