AN enterprising barber from Worcester says his cutting edge virtual queuing app has proved a big hit with hundreds of businesses signing up ready for the lifting of lockdown.

Ellis Campbell says the response to his MyQSafe venture has been 'amazing' with hundreds of businesses across the country subscribing already and momentum growing every day. The 30-year-old barber, owner of Ellis Campbell & Co in Broad Street, Worcester, wanted the hair and beauty industry, including his own business, to be able to get a head start and keep customers and staff safe when lockdown is eased, possibly as soon as July 4. He worked with Green Gorilla and business partner Dean Nicholas to create the technology. He said: "The response has been amazing. I think it looks like it's taking off and catching on."

Mr Campbell has received hundreds of messages, thousands of likes and shares and video views on social media. After the story appeared first in the Worcester News, Mr Campbell has been interviewed by Youthcomm Radio and is due to be interviewed by Free Radio. BBC's The One Show has also registered their interest in featuring his idea on TV. As previously reported, the IOS and android application helps businesses who offer walk-in services. Each business which subscribes gets a unique QR code which is placed in the shop window. Customers download the app and check in by scanning their smart phone, joining the virtual queue. Customers can go off, look in other shops or grab a coffee while they wait - a notification on their phone will let them know when it's their turn. Mr Campbell says, for those who do not have a smart phone, an admin can put their details in manually. He's offering free trials to Worcester businesses and encourages them to contact QSafe at info@myspace.co.uk. Businesses can register interest at www.myqsafe.co.uk
