MORE buses will be introduced back to Worcester this week.

After nine weeks of lockdown and a vastly reduced bus network that has been in place to accommodate key workers and people who needed to make essential journeys, First Worcester, has introduced more buses back into the network from today (June 1).

Social distancing guidelines and reduced capacity measures will continue to be in place, providing a safe area for each passenger to sit whilst travelling to their destination.

Signage is fitted to the exterior of the vehicle near to the entrance door and inside the bus providing clear advice on where to sit once a person has boarded.

Rob Hughes, operations director at First Worcester said: "It is likely that demand for bus services will start to gradually increase over the coming weeks, so it is important that the provision for public transport is ready and able to accommodate peoples travel needs, at the same time provide a safe environment for people to travel.

"Our ‘front line drivers’ and support staff have done a fantastic job keeping bus services running over the previous weeks and it has been nice to have seen the many supporting messages sent from key workers and people who have relied on the bus to get to their place of work."
