A WOMAN was found dead when police broke into a room at a sheltered accommodation complex in Dudley.

Police were called to the complex on Middlepark Road in the Russells Hall area by staff after concerns were raised for a resident who had not been seen at the complex for some time.

Officers forced entry into the room where they discovered the body of a 63-year-old woman on Tuesday, May 26.

A 43-year-old man, who police say is known to the deceased, was arrested at the scene and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police say the cause the woman's death is unconfirmed and a post mortem examination is due to take place.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We received a 999 call just before midday on May 26 from staff at a sheltered accommodation complex in Middlepark Road, Dudley, raising concerns for a resident who had not been seen for some time.

"Officers forced entry to a room and found the body of a 63-year-old woman.

"The cause of death is unconfirmed at this stage and a post mortem examination will take place in due course.

"A 43-year-old man, who is known to the deceased and was arrested at the scene has now been bailed pending further enquiries."
