TENBURY community hospital is open again.
Health chiefs closed the hospital at the beginning of the month so that medical staff could be redeployed to other hospitals to cope with the Covid-19 outbreak.
The hospital in Tenbury has been earmarked to take patients with non Covid-19 issues but because of the drop in other cases it was not needed and so the Worcestershire NHS Trust decided to move nurses to other hospitals in the area.
But with the number of people needing to be hospitalised with coronavrus falling the community hospital that includes a Minor Injuries Unit has been able to open again.
“The whole NHS network is now working to resume as much of its capability as possible now that we have passed the Covid-19 peak,” said Tenbury MP Harriett Baldwin, who wants to see more use made of community hospitals.
