STAFF from a Moreton-in-Marsh hotel have been taking part in a hair raising challenge to raise money for NHS heroes.

White Hart Royal Hotel staff are currently on furlough at their homes around the country, but are working together for the special hair challenge.

The team of 12 are currently half way through a 12 week sponsored facial and head hair growing exercise.

And at the end of the challenge all 12 will have a grand shave off when they will all have a dramatic makeover when they will go bald.

General Manager Bill Ramsay, who is one of the team, said: "We really wanted to do something positive together even though we’re living many miles apart.

"Whether by then (the end of the 12 weeks) we’ll be able to find a way to be altogether, or have our ceremonial head shave in our own homes, is yet unknown."

The group has already raised an impressive £2,000 for NHS Charities Together.

Meanwhile the hotel also has already delivered hundreds of pounds of food, that would be past its sell by date at the end of August, to the North Gloucestershire Food Bank’s headquarters.
