THE science department at a Kidderminster school has donated safety goggles, aprons, gloves and masks to the intensive care unit at Worcester Hospital.

Holy Trinity School and Sixth Form Centre handed over the supplies in response to an appeal for equipment to help hospitals cope with the coronavirus pandemic.

Headteacher Pamela Leek-Wright said: “As soon as we were made aware that hospitals were reaching out to schools for safety equipment, we had to respond.

“It seems such a small gesture, but anything that will help support the incredible service that our NHS is providing, we are happy to do.

"I know that we will not be the only school to have done this and it makes me proud to be part of the teaching profession.”

As well as the equipment, Holy Trinity also sent over pictures of rainbows created by students for hospital staff.

The pictures will be displayed at the entrance of the hospital's intensive care unit.
