A NUMBER of Worcester Magistrates Court cases have been adjourned due to the Covid-19 outbreak and the latest government advice on staying at home.

Defendants were given dates for the next hearing of their cases, but were excused from attending in advance.

On March 25 Donna Barnes’ case was heard at Worcester Magistrates Court.

Barnes is accused of being in a public place - St Martin's Quarter in Worcester - on March 7, with an article which had a blade or a sharp point.

Barnes, aged 42, of St Paul's Street, Worcester, is also accused of assaulting a police officer by beating on the same day.

The next hearing of her case is scheduled to take place at the court on May 7. Barnes was given unconditional bail.

Abbie Bradshaw’s case was also heard at the court on March 25.

Bradshaw, 26, of Glenthorne Avenue, Worcester, is accused of assaulting PC Webb, who was on duty for West Mercia Police at the time, on March 4. On the same day Bradshaw is also accused of driving a Ford KA on Brickfields Road, Worcester, when she had 46mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mcg.

The next hearing of the case is scheduled for May 7, and Bradshaw was granted unconditional bail.

Shaun Costello’s case was heard on March 25. The 50-year-old is accused of drunk and disorderly behaviour in Pump Street on March 7.

The next hearing of the case is scheduled for May 7 and Costello was given conditional bail, the conditions being he should not enter any premises licensed to sell alcohol.

Meanwhile Chelsea Gordon’s was another case that was adjourned.

Gordan, of Snead Common, Abberley, Worcester is accused of driving a BMW on Main Road, Ombersley, on March 8 when she had 85mcg in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mcg.

Gordan is also accused of driving the BMW that day when it had no valid test certificate.

Gordan’s case is scheduled to take place on May 7 at the court.

The 27-year-old was granted unconditional bail by magistrates.
