MEMBERS of the combined Rock Choirs of Worcester, Droitwich and Tewksbury have been taking part in new daily singing sessions.

Rock Choir, which has branches in Worcester, Droitwich and Malvern, is holding daily singing sessions shown live on the internet.

Rock Choir founder and creative director, Caroline Redman Lusher, launched the‘Keep Britain Singing’ initiative on Monday.

After members went into isolation, and rehearsals had to be cancelled, that led the project to be launched. Singing sessions take place at 3pm every day, shown live on Facebook, and the singing group is committed to run this daily until normal rehearsals can resume.

Talented musicians and singers lead the singing and rotate in front of the camera on a daily basis to deliver an uplifting, positive song. Everyone is encouraged to join in and sing along with the leader.

Songs are announced the day before each session is broadcast and the activity includes a mass sing-a-long as well as fun extras, singing tips and ideas to help everyone connect with music over this period of time.

Song requests and interaction are also being welcomed.

Caroline Redman Lusher said: "The well-being of our members is and will always be our absolute priority and now we have the whole country to consider too.

"We have 32,000 ‘Rockies’ in Rock Choir who, along with the rest of the general public, will each be facing uncertainty. Some will be scared, some lonely and others will be in isolation potentially for a long length of time. We are encouraging them and the public to join us daily."
