A SALON in Malvern is helping the community in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Belle Beauty, in Worcester Road, is giving heavily discounted treatments to all NHS workers to thank them for their hard work.

The salon is also offering to act as a collection point for items for the Malvern Hills Foodbank, encouraging clients to bring something along with them or drop off at the door of the salon to be donated later this week.

Lucy Watkins, owner of Belle Beauty, said: "These are very unusual and troubling times for us all, but especially those in need, people isolated from the community and small businesses.

"Firstly, we decided to offer discounts for the NHS staff of up to 30 per cent as we’re so grateful for all they do, which is highlighted right now with everything that’s going on.

"But we decided as part of the Malvern community that we wanted to do more.

"So we are reaching out to everyone to help us support others.

"Of course, we also want to keep our doors open for as long as we safely can to ensure our own staff their job security.

"We can assure people of our strict hygiene practices, but for those who don’t want to come into the salon right now, we can still offer vouchers as gifts and can deliver products if required, whether for personal use or gifting."
