A MAN was found guilty of assault after previously admitting stealing beer and breaching a criminal behaviour order.

Brandon Taylor, of Newtown Road, Worcester, had pleaded not guilty to assaulting James Vick on December 6, but was found guilty by magistrates at Worcester Magistrates Court on March 6.

In an earlier hearing at the court, held last December, Taylor had pleaded guilty to stealing 24 Budweiser beers, valued at £12, from Asda on December 12 and December 14.

The 18-year-old had also admitted being at McDonald's in The Cross on March 3, when he was prohibited from doing so by a CBO given to him last August by magistrates.

When Taylor, who is in custody, appeared at the court he was told he would be sentenced at Worcester Crown Court on the charges. Another offence Taylor had admitted to, breaching a community order by failing to attend unpaid work, was withdrawn by the Crown Prosecution Service, with the reason given that it was in the interests of justice.

Also at the court on March 6 Joshua Hutchinson, 29, of Woodmans Place, Droitwich, changed his plea and admitted speeding.

The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Peugeot on the M5 between junctions 4 and 5 on July 16 last year, at a speed above 50 miles per hour in contravention of a temporary maximum speed restriction on that section.

Hutchinson was fined £100, told to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £200. He offered to pay the total, £332, at a rate of £50 per month, an offer that was accepted by the magistrates.

He was also given three penalty points.

And at the court on March 6, Ataollah Khateri-Roodbordeh, 63, of Cwmbran, Gwent, was found guilty of speeding on the M5 near Worcester on October 9.

Khateri-Roodbordeh was fined £500, told to pay a victim surcharge of £50, and costs of £225.

He was also given five penalty points by magistrates.
