WORCESTERSHIRE'S first new railway station in more than 100 years officially opened earlier today (Sunday)
Councillors, guests and passengers gathered at Worcestershire Parkway to see the first train arrive, the 08:28 service to London Paddington.
The result of more than 30 years of discussion and planning, the new station will be served by Great Western Railway and Cross Country.
The new station is fully modernised and includes 500 car parking spaces including electric charging points.
Speaking at the launch, GWR's managing director Matthew Golton said: "It has been 30 years in the planning and taken lots of work to get here, but it is very very exciting.
"This station is all about putting Worcestershire on the map."
