A POPULAR running group from Malvern presented a cheque to the Malvern Citizens' Advice Bureau.

The Malvern Joggers handed over the cheque on Wednesday, February 12 having raised nearly £1,000 from their fund raising events throughout the year.

Events included the MJ10K race held in June as well as the group's work marshalling the Eastnor Mudbath.

Chris Bocock from the CAB said: "I wanted to thank The Malvern Joggers for their magnificent fundraising activities on our behalf.

"As a small charity with no guaranteed income, this kind of contribution is absolutely vital in keeping us afloat and able to serve thousands of people each year in South Worcestershire".

The club has now voted for Acorns Children's' Hospice to be their next chosen charity for 2020

The Malvern Joggers held their AGM last Wednesday and a new chairman in Warwick Taylor was appointed.

In addition, a new treasurer was appointed in Nick Johnson, these two replaced the outgoing Carl Flint and Jerry Greer who had both guided the club for many years.

Also appointed was Sarah Clark as social secretary Jamie Francis as vice chairman and Neil Warne as cross country team captain.

Mr Taylor said "We have a fantastic club in the Malvern Joggers with a great community of like minded and supportive runners; its a really friendly and sociable club.

"My aim is to ensure that if for anyone in the Malvern and surrounding area that wants to run, then we can help them achieve their running goals, big or small - whether you've never run before or you want to run an ultramarathon - and of course we have the amazing Malvern Hills to run on."
