POLICE are urging residents to be on their guard against potential burglars after two break-ins in the Amblecote area.

The first incident happened in Willow Rise between 9.50am and 4.54pm on February 15 when offenders broke into the property through the rear door.

The burglars made off with £150 but the alarm was activated and police believe this may have helped prevent any other items from being taken.

In the second incident, which happened in nearby Ashton Park Drive, a garage was broken into and a red mountain bike was stolen.

The offence occurred between February 12 and 16 but it is believed it may have taken place around the same time as the offence in Willow Rise.

Residents are being asked to contact police on 101 if they see the bike offered for sale or dumped locally - or if they see anything suspicious in the area.

Stourbridge PCSO Neal Hunt said three men were seen in the area around the times of the incident and he added: "We have seen an increase in crime around early evening."
