A MAN has been charged with murder following the death of an 80-year-old woman in Studley.
An investigation was launched following the death of a pensioner in the village yesterday (Monday, February 17).
Police were called shortly after 8.20am to a report of the death of an 80-year-old woman inside a property in Allendale Crescent.
A man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in police custody this afternoon.
Ronald Mowbray, aged 82, of Allendale Crescent, has since been charged with murder.
He is due to appear at Warwickshire Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning (Wednesday, February 19).
While formal identification is yet to take place, the victim is believed to be Ann Mowbray.
Her next of kin has been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers.
