POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car failed to stop after knocking a cyclist off his bike.

The cyclist fractured his fingers and suffered bruising when he was knocked off his bike by a passing vehicle.

Police said the driver of the vehicle failed to stop after the crash on the A449 towards Newland.

Malvern police officers are appealing for information or witnesses following the incident on the A449 at Newland.

The cyclist, who was travelling towards Malvern, was hit at around 6.40am on Friday, January 24.

Sergeant Simon Hallam, of West Mercia Police, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are on-going but we believe that there may have been other drivers travelling along the road at the time who may well have witnessed the incident.

"I’d like to appeal to them to get in touch.”
