A MUM is disgusted at the overflowing dog poo bins around her house.

Jemma Powell-Davies, 31, said the dog bins are regularly overflowing with waste despite her reporting it to Worcester City Council “several times.”

Mrs Powell-Davies from Sentinel Close, St. Johns, said: “I have emailed the council three or four times regarding the bins.

“I have only once received a reply apologising and telling me that they have now been emptied.

“They used to be emptied rather regularly, but it seems that since November they are being left a lot longer.”

, Mrs Powell-Davies is worried about the health of her young children.

She continued: “We have to walk past the bins everyday taking the kids to and from school.

“It is absolutely disgusting. I am concerned that children will pick up the bags or tread in them accidentally.”“We live on a newly built estate, and it is lovely, but when people drive past my road and see poo strewn all over the place it makes us look awful.

“It is so bad and the smell is ridiculous. They don’t have lids on so there is nothing to protect you from the horrible stench.”

A spokesman for the Worcester City Council said: “The dog bins in Worcester are emptied on a regular basis. We would encourage anyone who spots a bin that is full and needs emptying urgently to let us know at www.worcester.gov.uk”

The PooWatch app, developed by the Safer Worcester Partnership, Duckworth Worcestershire Trust and Worcester City Council also allows users to report locations where dog muck hasn’t been cleaned up.
