A NEW specialist neurological care and rehab centre is opening in Worcester, bringing with it at least 70 jobs.

Inspire Neurocare, in Oldbury Road, will provide rehab, long term care, respite and palliative care for people with complex conditions including Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease and brain and spinal cord injuries.

The 42-room centre is set to open in February 2020, and manager Marc Russell said: "We’re searching for compassionate, caring people who are keen to work in a highly complex care environment and develop new skills and a new career.

“Every day we strive for new ways to assist people to maintain their skills and abilities or relearn skills they have lost through injury or illness."

In addition to bedrooms, the centre will have a gym and dedicated areas for families to spend time together.

A one-bedroom independent living flat is also part of the service.

Roles available in the coming weeks include care staff (known as Life Skills Facilitators), a range of qualified therapists and nurses.

The service is also recruiting receptionists, a second chef, kitchen assistants and housekeeping staff, including a head of housekeeping.

Mr Russell, who started his own career as an Art Therapist for adults with physical disabilities, said working in the social care sector can be hugely rewarding.

He added: “It's hard work, we make no excuse for that or try to hide it. But it’s also incredibly rewarding to know that you are making a positive and genuine difference to people lives everyday through a very difficult and challenging periods of change. No two days will ever be the same.”

“I look forward to meeting our new team members in the coming weeks and months.”
