THREE more people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a machete attack in Worcester.
A 21-year-old, 23-year-old and 25-year-old, all from Worcester, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are currently in police custody.
Meanwhile three men, a 22-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, both from Worcester, as well as a 30-year-old from Sparkhill, Birmingham - who also were arrested on attempted murder - remain in custody, police said yesterday.
The arrests are in connection with an incident that took place in Wylds Lane, Worcester, between 11pm on Saturday, November 23, and 1am on Sunday, November 24.
A 22-year-old man sustained potentially life changing injuries. Police say he is in a stable condition in hospital.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Wall said: “I would like to reassure the community we have now made six arrests in connection with an assault that occurred in Wylds Lane, Worcester.
"The individuals remain in custody, while we continue to progress our enquiries.
"Thank you to members of the public that have helped us with our enquiries.
"The investigation is ongoing and I would like to take this opportunity to ask anyone who may have seen or heard anything in relation to the incident that we would welcome your information – no matter how small.

The Worcester News has seen photographs of the alleged victims injuries, that showed the victim's hand with a deep gash near the knuckles, that appeared to have cut very deeply into three of his figures.
Another photograph of the alleged victim's face also showed a stitched cut just below his left eye.
The attack, which happened outside St John’s Ambulance in Wyld’s Lane and near two city primary schools, has caused shock and revulsion throughout the community, with a source saying it was linked to drug deal.
Police have stepped up patrols in the area in recent days in response.
Meanwhile a source, who declined to be named, said there was an attempted kidnap in Carlisle Road, Ronkswood, around 24 hours before the Wylds Lane incident.
And reportedly an hour after the machete attack a property was smashed up in Westminster Road, Ronkswood.
West Mercia Police was asked about these incidents and if they were all linked but Chief Inspector Ian Wall said: “We are aware of some speculation following an assault in Wylds Lane.
"We are investigating all leads and a number of lines of enquiry and, as the investigation is ongoing, we are unable to comment further.”
