WELCOMING Princess Anne to Bromsgrove was "an honour", beamed the boss of a medical innovation company based in the town.

HRH The Princess Royal visited medical equipment manufacturers and suppliers Kimal at its Aston Fields Trade Park base on Friday, November 15.

After flying into town via the royal helicopter, the royal visitor enjoyed a tour of the Sherwood Road firm and learned more about its 'Innovation Programme' and manufacturing processes.

Kimal has been supplying hospitals across the world with customised procedural solutions and vascular access devices for more than 50 years.

The Princess Royal visited Kimal in order to learn more about the company’s research and development efforts, and to hear more about its dedication to improving patient outcomes through innovation.

Alan Press, Kimal’s executive chairman, and son of founders George and Diana Press, hosted The Princess Royal during the tour.

Kimal employees within the company’s production, operational and research and development teams were also given the opportunity to demonstrate how the company’s procedure packs are manufactured.
