Police have fined a man who went into the River Severn in Worcester, sparking an emergency services operation, after officers discovered he’d done it for a dare.
South Worcs Cops, posting on Twitter at around 1.30am on Saturday November 16, said: “Emergency services have just been called to the River Severn in Worcester after reports of a male in the river.
“Turns out the male was dared to go in by his "friends". Passers by thought he was at real risk and called Police and Ambo.
“Male recovered and issued an on the spot fine.”
