CARE home staff bravely had their legs waxed to raise money for a sick Worcester boy.

Staff at The Mill House Care Home in Kington, Flyford Flavell braved the wax for the appeal Hand in Hand for Oscar. The appeal is for Oscar Saxelby Lee who has T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

Becky Folan from The Mill House said: "We are massively happy about the amount raised. We didn't have a huge turn out but our staff were so amazing. It was such a fantastic cause to put it towards."

"It was hilarious because the men really were grinning and and bearing it and one was screaming."

The home wanted to give a special mention to Flory, a member of the Night Care team who gave up her free time to undertake the waxing and shaving which raised £621.

Ms Folan said: "A special thanks to all members of staff who along with family members; generously gave their time and money to support the fundraiser."

"We would also like to thank Joanne Carroll the Proprietor and her

daughter Georgina Cherry the Registered Manager for their support and willingness for this event to take place at The Mill House Care Home."

The event was organised by Nikkie and Anouska from The Mill House.

The community came together to raise £500,000 needed for Oscar to have specialist treatment, but his parents want people to keep raising money to fund research so other children can benefit.
