A NUMBER of important planning applications including apartments for Worcester's biggest Catholic church were submitted to the council last week.

An old garage behind St George’s Catholic Church in Sansome Place in Worcester would be converted into four apartments as part of a plan to raise more money to pay for the running costs of the church.

The application, put forward by Very Rev Canon Brian McGinley to Worcester City Council, wants to make better use of the building behind the grade II-listed church to help pay for running costs.

The 190-year-old building is the city’s largest Catholic church.
