A MALVERN tech firm has pledged its support to a marine charity to promote care for the planet.

Payara Services Ltd has pledged its support to the Marine Conservation Society UK, aiming to help raise awareness of the charity's objectives and activities both locally and internationally.

Staff from Payara have been involved in numerous fundraising activities throughout the year, including sponsored walks, runs and bakes as well as ‘Plastic-free July’, ensuring that plastics were reduced and re-used where possible by offering branded re-usable water bottles and mugs.

2019 will be the first year that the business will give each of its team members the opportunity to carry out paid volunteering for a charity of their choice.

Julia Millidge, HR and operations manager at Payara, confirmed: "Aside from being a local charity, the Marine Conservation Society UK does incredible work to keep the world’s oceans clean and protected, a task that is becoming increasingly challenging.

"In pledging to raise awareness over the next 12 months, we hope we can make a difference to their work."

Katharine Sharp, corporate partnerships manager at The Marine Conservation Society UK, added: "It is great that Payara have chosen an environmental charity to support and we hope that the message this conveys is received by others in their industry, prompting them to act as well."
