A WYRE Forest hospice are preparing for their first ever music festival this weekend in celebration of their 50th anniversary.
The Kidderminster charity KEMP Hospice will hold their family-friendly KEMPfest on Sunday, August 18 at Shed Food & Drink Festival Site, Crossway Green near Stourport.
The event will mark 50 years of the care service and will feature music acts including chart-topper Max George, Fuzzbox and Sweet Female Attitude.
Three local breweries have provided a section of ales for festival-goers to try, including Bewdley Brewery, Wye Valley Breweries and Hartlebury Brewery Co.
The festival will also feature a live comedy tent, children’s entertainment, rides, a free shuttle bus to the event from three pick-up points, and a penalty shoot-out arena hosted by Kidderminster Harriers.
The three bus pick-up points are at Vale Road in Stourport, Crossley Retail Park in Kidderminster and Chester Road South.
KEMPfest organiser Shelley Stanley said: “We have been so well supported in putting KEMPfest together and it is a testament to the support that we have received at KEMP since we were founded fifty years ago.
“We want to mark our fiftieth anniversary in style and I hope people will come and enjoy a great day out.”
Tickets cost £15 for adults, £10 for young adults (aged 10 to 17), and children under 10 can go for free. A Family Pass costs £40 and parking costs £5.
To purchase tickets, people can visit kemphospice.org.uk/kempfest, KEMP’s reception on Mason Road, all of the hospice shops, Shed Food & Drink, or buy at the gate on the day.
All proceeds will go towards the charity and the event will run from 12pm to 10pm.
