A GROUP of young South African cricketers enjoyed a day at the cricket courtesy of Worcestershire and England all-rounder Moeen Ali.

The group, from Fish Rite Hanover Park Cricket Club in Cape Town, are currently in the country to play a series of exhibition matches and carry out some sightseeing.

The teenagers attended the Worcestershire vs Australia tour match at New Road on Wednesday, August 7, before heading to Moseley Ashfield CC, Moeen's home club as a teenager, for an exhibition match.

Cape Town’s Fish Rite Hanover Park Cricket Club is sited in Cape Flats, a “dumping ground” of the former apartheid regime, where black and coloured South Africans were forcibly removed to the margins.

Even now the area is riddled with poverty and crime.

The tourists will stay in the UK until August 18 following more matches and sight-seeing.
