ALVECHURCH library is holding a Love Your Library day with special guest, children’s author Mark Lowery.

This is a rare chance to meet, hear and learn from one the country’s most successful children’s authors.

Mark Lowery is the award-winning writer of Socks Are Not enough, Pants Are Everything, and his latest The Chicken Nugget Ambush.

Mark will hold two sessions on July 23 to help children, young people and families learn to love reading and writing.

In the morning, 9.30am to 10.30am, Mark will be holding a family fun talk.

In the afternoon there will a session called Collaborative Creative Writing for adults and teens from 2.15pm to 4.15pm.

Councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member for communities, said: “We are extremely delighted to welcome Mark to our Alvechurch library for these sessions.

"I have seen him present at our Awesomest Book awards and I know we are in for a treat. His funny, silly, zany way of getting the message across helps children and parents alike.

"For all budding writers this is a free session not to be missed.”

There is no charge for either of these sessions but people are being asked to book.

Please book at Alvechurch Library, either by popping into the library, email ALLib@worcestershire.gov.uk, or through the venue's Facebook page.
