GETTING children and young people interested in wildlife and the protection of habitat is an important part of the work at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms.

On the first Sunday of every month people are invited to come to the centre and lend a hand as ‘habitat helpers’.

Included on the site are the Onny Meadows that are important as a home for a variety of birds and wildlife including some rare species of butterfly.

The work that also gives people an opportunity to learn and make friends makes sure that the site is clear of rubbish but also that the plants, grasses and flowers are kept in the best way to encourage birds, animals and butterflies.
