A CO-OP store was raided during a 'horrific attack' that took place on the weekend.

The break-in happened on Sunday (July 7) night at the Co-op in Davies Road, Evesham.

Matt Snape posted on Facebook: “Last night, hard-working staff at the Coop on Davies Road in my old ward of Evesham South were involved in a horrific attack.

"I absolutely deplore what they did.

“These people work hard night and day to serve people of all walks of life. They do not deserve to be subjected to these attacks.”

Mr Snape added: “I went and paid a visit to the staff to see how they are doing. They seem to be doing as well as they can be.

“Just because I am no longer a councillor doesn’t mean I no longer care.”

There will be more to follow.
