A BY-ELECTION will be held following the sudden death of a city councillor.
The election will be held in the Claines ward of Worcester City Council on Thursday, August 8 following the death of Councillor Stuart Denlegh-Maxwell on June 10.
A candidate briefing will be held at the Guildhall in Worcester at 6pm on Monday, July 8.
Those wishing to stand as a candidate in the by-election are encouraged to attend.
The briefing will cover how to nominate a candidate, the election procedure and timetable, the various agents that can be appointed, postal voting, polling day, and the count as well as covering the basics of election law.
Nomination packs will be available to collect at this briefing or can be requested by email to electoralservices@worcester.gov.uk after the briefing.
