A 22-YEAR-old man has admitted drink driving at Worcester Magistrates Court.

Jack Burfitt admitted the offence at Worcester Magistrates Court yesterday.

Nichola Ritchie said Burfitt was driving his BMW in Anglian Crescent in Kempsey on June 1, at around 10.15am, when he was pulled over by police.

Burfitt failed a roadside breathalyser test and was taken into custody where he gave a reading of 48mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - the legal limit being 35mcg.

Defending himself, Burfitt, of Chalford Drive, said he believed the police were called by a former girlfriend, and she had done it “out of spite” knowing he had been drinking the night before but telling him to pick the kids up immediately.

He added he would probably lose his job as a result of the inevitable disqualification.

Burfitt was banned from driving for 14 months, fine £120 and must pay £135 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
