AS part of carers week a number of events are being held this week.

The Worcestershire Association of Carers has organised the drop in and talks, which will offer advice, information, support and guidance.

The association says officially there are more than 13,000 unpaid carers in the county, but it is estimates this figure to be in reality over 63,000.

A drop in event is being held at Worcester City Inpatients, in Timberline Close from 2pm to 5pm today.

A Working for Carers talk is also being held at Worcestershire Acute Trust’s Equality and Diversity Forum, being held at Charles Hastings Way between 3pm and 4.30pm.

On Tuesday drop in events are being held at Malvern Hospital, in Worcester Road, and Tenbury Surgery, in Teme Street - both between 9am and 1pm.

A coffee morning takes place at Regents Care Home, in School Road, between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

On Wednesday, there will be a drop in event at Spring Gardens between 9.30am and 1pm, and a coffee morning at Parsons Gardens, Leamington Road, in Broadway between 10.30am and noon.

A drop in event is also takes place at Athelon Ward at Newtown Hospital, Newtown Road, between 2pm and 4pm.

On Thursday there will be at Working for Carers networking breakfast at Worcester Cricket Club in New Road, between 8.30am and 10am.

At Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Charles Hasting Way there will be drop in and End of Life service launch between 1pm and 5pm.

And a carers afternoons tea is being held at the Twisted Spoon in Worcester Road, Upton Snodsbury, between 2pm and 4pm.

The association, which has been running for 20 years, say events are open to any interested parties.
